The Wall

The last big project in the house is the upstairs hallway. Three walls, one ceiling. I've decided there are 13 steps.

Strip wallpaper

Scrape glue and clean walls

Spackle

Sand

Vaccuum

Repeat (=3 steps)

Paint ceiling once

Paint celing twice

Prime walls

Apply first color coat

Apply second color coat

I was off on Friday so between yesterday and today, Saturday, I've gotten through the first nine steps. I did the first three steps a while ago but had to take a break after cracking my ribs.

The photo above, at the end of step nine, conveys how much fun I'm having. Knackered.

I also gardened this morning and went to Lidl (30+ people in line) and Home Base (30+ people in line). I'm almost afraid to wake up tomorrow.

Cracks spackled. Primer purchased today for step 11. Usually the payoff is mom visiting in the summer to say how great the place looks. Instead the payoff is me seeing a bright ceiling (not dingy and stained) and bright yellow walls (not Magnolia-painted wallpaper, Magnolia being a popular paint on the mocha side of beige).
