Noirland

Last night we went to two local films that are part of the Belfast Film Festival: Onus and Noirland, both thrillers. When the lights came up after each film, you learn that the actors and directors are sitting among you. The murderer is two rows away and the corrupt policeman right behind you! It's a bit unnerving.

I've heard directors talk about their films before, but not with the humility I heard last night. The gist of their brief remarks was to introduce the actors "who make me look like I know what I'm doing." I found it very refreshing, given the medium is not known for humility.
