Today was a down day. Other than reading, I’m not sure if I did anything.
I made no New Year’s Eve plans. It is impossible to get a taxi home on NYE and who wants to drive? Plus, loud crowded parties are not my scene. So I watched Graham Norton’s NYE special, which featured the O’Donovan brothers, who won a silver medal in rowing for Ireland. An interview with them in Rio went viral because they are so funny--a combination of their quick wit and thick Kerry accent.

So goodbye 2016 and good riddance. On a personal level, I’m happy that I got a job this year and have enjoyed working at Preventable Surprises. But on the political front, the year was depressing. I am an optimist at heart and hold onto the hope that the reaction against Trump will put us in a better place than we would have been without him. But for the planet, time is running out.
