Me & Bobbi
I drove 2 hours today to Cheat Lake, just past Morgantown, to have lunch with my old friend Bobbi. I wasn’t smart enough to bring my camera. I really admire Bobbi for her talent as a poet, her intellectual curiosity (still taking university courses in her 80s), her generosity, and her steadfastness as a friend. May I live up to her example.
In Parkersburg, I’ve caught up with three of mom’s friends so far--Judy, Sandy, and Hema (who made me lovely fried balls of tilapia, chickpeas, and Indian spices). I’m so fond of these women and I’m so grateful that they have mom’s back.
