House hunters international

On a hill rising above the coastal path is the Downton Abbyesque Crawfordsburn House, once home to the Wilson family (you may have heard of their golf balls?). During the war, it became a hospital, then a nursing home, then it was divided up for apartments. On the grounds is also a collection of brick townhouses. We looked at one of those, but didn't fall in love with it. It has some strong pros and some strong cons, one of which is living in a gated community.

I've looked at seven houses so far, with three more booked. There is one that I am crazy about, but it could be a budget buster. Stay tuned.
