Bridge over troubled water

To my right is Shaw’s Bridge, now a pedestrian bridge.

To my left is the bridge carrying the ring road (a beltway around East Belfast). Underneath it, you can see gates for kayakers who run the rapids here.

And here are some kayakers:

I get a bit anxious whenever I see kayakers. My time on the rapids in the Lehigh Value were maybe equal parts delight and terror, so my heartbeat races a bit when I remember being pushed around in whitewater.

On the jobs front, I must report that I got rejection letters from Triodos and PRI, the two organisations I’ve interviewed with in recent weeks. I decided that my whole strategy is wrong. I’m applying for jobs for which I don’t have enough relevant experience (product management at Triodos or ESG investing at PRI). So maybe it’s time to start focusing on building a clientele of organisations I’m interested in who need a freelance writer. While I thought I needed a full-time within the industry to find these clients, I’m already making contacts that could turn into freelance writing gigs.
