Housing update

On the way to the wedding on Friday, we stopped by the house. It is a big hot mess. Trenches dug through the dining room floor for the gas line and for water/sewage pipes. Half the kitchen floor torn up. Holes being knocked out of the brick wall dividing the kitchen and conseratory (future windows). We are moving in come hell or high water on Jan. 31, so it's a bit nerve wracking.

I'm not losing sleep, however, because we seem to have a very good team and they are there every day. Ian's in charge of the carpenters, Barry has the plumbers, and Steven the electricians. They all seem like straight-up guys and I think a lot will get pulled together in the next two weeks. The gas line to the house was installed on Thursday, so that's good.

I really don't have the capacity to worry about the house because I'm behind on my Queen's deadlines and my freelance deadlines. Only so much worry left.
