Parc Guell
Still in Montserrat. Incredibly cool light fixture with names of saints incorporated.
After touring the chapel, we went for a hike. Which offered a nice view of the monastery.
And nice views generally.
Like I said I’m throwing in random shots. I don’t know what building this is, I just liked it.
There were so many buildings that were ornate in ways I’d never seen before. Maybe churches had to be grand to out grand the everyday architecture?
Now we’re at Parc Guell, designed by Antonio Gaudi. It was like Alice in Wonderland--playful, mind bending, original.
Parc Guell was meant to be a development of 20 or 30 houses high above Barcelona. Only two were built. Here’s one:
