Valiant effort

This morning I got on my bike--still a bit tight from Saturday’s hike--and cycled to the leisure centre where I swim. The pool was closed for maintenance. Ugh. I was so proud of myself for finally trying to swim after two months away. It was not to be. So I cycled home, past two burned-out bonfire sites. I could have gone for a run at that point--another pasttime that has fallen by the wayside. However I was hungry. Running will have to wait until tomorrow.

Tonight I watched Endeavour, a prequel to Morse and Lewis. These dramas are so complicated and I can’t always follow the twists in the plot. Tonight I actually did get it when Endeavour unspooled his theory about the descendant of the English aristocrat’s bastard child and his murders of those who got in the way of him claiming his inheritance, including school girls who were posing as ghosts to recreate murders of the aristocrat’s legitimate children 100 years earlier. They have enough red herrings in these shows to make a fish soup.
