A Day at the Irish Open
A hearty breakfast and then a quick walk through an art gallery in lovely Ramelton, then on to the golf. This was in a roundabout on the way to Ballyliffin.
We had a quick look at Pollan Bay before moving on to the Ballyliffin Golf Club next door. Mom is pointing to Glashedy Island and asking me question 203 of the day: What is that called?
Mom at the first tee box. The first person we saw tee off was the leader at the time, Ryan Fox from New Zealand.
Clubhouse in the background.
Leader board.
Mom watching the action on the 9th green. We got to see three of the four players listed on the leaderboard at the 9th hole.
Danny Willett of Sheffield being interviewed by an RTE commentator. He’s won a master’s among other championships.
At the 18th grandstand. As usual, mom was a trooper, walking carefully up and down dunes and stairs. All in all, a good day at the golf.
