Airports

I took the bus down to Dublin today to meet my friend, Kyle,
who's visiting for a week. Her 11 p.m. plane got in at midnight, which gave me plenty of time to watch lots of people greeting lots of people in the arrivals lounge, which is a wonderful pastime. There were the lovers, who kissed passionately. The 20-something man-boy who awkwardly hugged his mother but didn't acknowledge his father. The children who sprinted toward eager grandmother arms. The two women--sisters?--who hopped and skipped the distance between them. The man filming his kids reuniting with their mother. Where else do you see such lavish displays of emotion? I just love it. I wouldn't say I slobbered all over Kyle, but we were happy to see each other.
