Travel anxiety

Travel makes me anxious because I've never been that good at being on time. I have missed planes and been the last person on the plane, so I have grounds for my fears. I always think the drive to the airport and finding parking and getting through security will take less time than it does.

I bought tickets today for the Newark-Belfast flight (leaving Wednesday night) and an Amtrak fare that will get me from Johnstown, PA, to Newark from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. On Tuesday I drive up to Johnstown to meet a friend who will buy my car. We need to be at AAA by 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. In other words, I have three deadlines to meet on Tuesday and Wednesday. So I'm already nervous.

I've packed my big bag--it weighs in at 48 pounds and 50 is the limit. I'm packing my smaller bag to see how much more I can buy before I leave. Clothing and linens are cheaper here so I'm trying to take advantage of all the space I have. I have a queen set of sheets, a Nutribullet (makes breakfast shakes), a bag of clothes from Hollister, and two framed prints from my childhood--gifts from two women I adored when I was a kid, Mrs. Curran and Mrs. Morris, now both deceased.

The big question is whether to buy a new laptop. Mine is maybe eight years old. My main complaint is that it is very heavy. I will discuss this today with my IT consultant.
