The Argory and Ardress

David and I joined the National Trust a year ago so our membership is about to expire. We went to two NT properties today that we haven’t seen before, both just south of Lough Neagh, which is in the middle of Ulster.

The Argory looks like this:

This is actually the back of the Argory, I neglected to get a photo of the front. It was built in the early 1820s.
The front hall has a cantilevered staircase, an English mastiff statue, and a stove with a descending flue just behind the mastiff.

There are some interesting gardens, including a creepy walk along an allee of lime trees.

The house has a nice view of the Blackwater River, where I posed for a shot.
