Snow!
I got mom to the airport in Dublin Thursday morning under a very low sky and sleeting rain. She left at a good time. It snowed Thursday afternoon and through the night. So I had a lovely walk on the golf course on Friday.
I spent the day cleaning floors then putting down rugs I had sent away to be cleaned. The house is sparkling. The rugs were back a few days later than originally promised, so mom didn't get to see the house returned to its more-polished state.
I didn't play golf as planned Friday or have lunch as planned with a friend. But I did go to a driving range to try out a club Geoff recommended. We got on very well together and I bought it – a Ping 5 wood.
What a looker this boy is.
He turned into a puppy in the snow, very wired.
I took this photo b/c you can just barely see Cavehill in the distance.
This is the 10th, where the tee box sits much higher than the green, which is surrounded by bunkers. Steeply below the front of the green is a creek. So if you fall short of the green, you are in a creek or a bunker. This hole used to give me terrors. I don't always get it right but my ratio of getting on the green has improved.
Friday night I went to the final concert of the Contact choir, which I belonged to for a while. They did a great job, particularly with a Les Mis mix.
Saturday I went to a driving range again with a friend I was meant to play golf with the previous day. Other than that, cleaning, chores. Golf was canceled again today, Sunday. The snow is gone but the course is very wet. I met my friend Marek for a coffee and now am headed to the Lyric for a night of music--a fundraiser. Very excited. (Photo added later, Fra Fee headlines)
