Slieve Bearnagh

After failing to pin Raj down on a few last minute details, I left town for a camping trip without getting the monkey off my back. I climbed Slieve Bearnagh with three friends from a Meet Up hiking club. We saw these dudes on the way up:

Hiking companions Andrew, Colleen, and David Doyle at Hare’s Gap, a saddle before you begin the serious hiking. Note the Mourne Wall, which was built to keep livestock out of the catchment area for the reservoirs within the walls.

The views from the saddle are impressive.

When we got to the top, fast-moving mists blanketed nearby peaks. We had no idea what this portended...

In the meantime, we relished the view from the top of Bearnagh at sunset:
