Running is so weird

At my mom's there is a loop in McDonough Park that I decided I would do twice. It took 44 minutes and I did it every other day. I was liberated from the treadmill at Aurora and loving my freedom--running very slowly at first and faster when I could.

The terrain was one steep hill after another, up and down constantly. The result was, by the time I left the U.S. on July 1, I had very tender achilles tendons and it hurt to go up and down stairs.

Back here I'm struggling to run 30 minutes on much flatter terrain. I guess I got too far from my Aurora discipline of stretching and strengthening my legs. Just running is never going to work for me. So I have to find a new routine to augment my running to keep me running healthy. There is a 3-mile loop in Crawfordsburn glen. I did it once today and it took 28 minutes. I'd like to get that time down and do it twice.
