Religious objection

Today is Day Three of painting (photo below). Yesterday, I took a break and visited my friend David, whose table was stacked high with political flyers (we have an election next week). His partner is a mail carrier and the carriers assemble their own mail. So if you have six flyers, either you or your partner collates them to get them ready for delivery.

Imagine if two of the candidates were rabidly anti-gay (UKIP for one and Democratic Unionist the other). Imagine one of the candidates said that gay people and adulterers should be put in jail. Imagine spending your afternoon assembling those candidates' flyers into a folder for your partner to deliver. David thinks Stuart should refuse to deliver them based on his religious beliefs. It would be hard to argue with him.

As for the living/dining room. In recent days: two coats on the picture rail, two coats on the band between the cornice moulding and picture rail, one coat on the ceilings and today !! wall colour. The aforementioned bold wall colour we decided on after visiting with a designer from Laura Ashley. It's called Stiffkey Blue and is named after the north Norfolk beach where the mud, along with the cockles, is this particular blue hue. The paint is made by Farrow and Ball and is very good paint. We used the cheap stuff in the bedroom and I'm really enjoying working with a heavier paint (even though it's water based). Here's David taking his first swipes with Stiffkey:
