Release day

So today a press release went out to a few dozen media outlets promoting the report I’ve been working on forever. We did an early embargoed release to a few select reporters, allowing the Financial Times to publish an article today.

With the exception of IPE, no other reporters took the bait, but the report is making its way into various e-mailed newsletters and getting some Twitter love.

There’s a link to the report in this blog post. It’s been an interesting exercise and I’m glad it’s done.

My title is director of communications but that’s a bit of a joke because I have no skills at marketing strategies to work with media/social media to amplify coverage. Luckily, there’s a guy in London (European Climate Fund) and another in New York (Climate Nexus) who do just that--work with NGOs and academia to obtain press coverage.
