Productive week
Tuesday I had my best ever round of golf, with my handicap dropping from 40 to 36 as a result. I started the year at 49, so happy with my progress.
Wednesday I visited the dentist for inspection of a temporary filling inserted before I went to Wales. I expected her to do a root canal, given the tooth is sometimes still sensitive. She instead suggested a prescription toothpaste that could help calm the nerve. A much better result. Wednesday night I had a putting lesson, which could help pull my handicap down further.
And today, Thursday, Gary the joiner came and built a box to enclose the pipes in the upstairs lounge. He also hung a mahogany shelf on the same wall as the boxed pipes, and he hung a shelf in the bathroom. Tomorrow he returns to finish the punch list.
Tonight I put my Belleek collection on the new shelves and I think it looks smashing--probably not a good word to describe a collection of fine china ornaments. But I'm chuffed with how the cream-and-soft-green curios look on the shelf with a duck egg background. Photos to follow once I've painted the new box.
In the meantime a photo from Wales taken by my friend Toni, who hiked past Pen Y Fan onto additional peaks in a horseshoe shape.
Work has been pretty intense since I've been back so Wales is feeling like a distant memory--but a good one.
