Pods by the sea

Belfast sits at the bottom of a deep V, which opens onto the Irish Sea, a mere 20 miles from Scotland. We live on the southern vector of that V, a stretch between Belfast and Bangor called the Gold Coast. If you've seen the coastal path photos, you'll see why.

While Belfast is a fairly cosmopolitan place, by Ulster standards, Bangor is the poor cousin. Which may enhance it's creativity and risk taking. To wit, Bangor has placed a collection of colorful pods (small shipping containers) next to the marina and invited artists to work there and show their wares. I met one yesterday, a watercolorist named Barbara Allen who paints crabs, fish, and shorebirds. I plan to go back this weekend and meet the textile artists.
