Outings

On Saturday I walked 6 miles at CastleWard with my friend Chris. I didn't realise we were walking that far and became very hangry--hungry and foul tempered due to reservoir dipping too low. I had spent nearly two hours cleaning windows before leaving the house at 9:45 to get to Castle Ward for a 10:30 entry. The bowl of cereal at 6:30 a.m. and a power bar on the way didn't get me to noon.

When we finally sat down to eat, we were on the banks of Strangford Lough facing what is now known as Winterfell.

Sunday I walked with my friend Marek from Minnowburn to Giant's Ring--unfortunately no photos.

This weekend I decided to abandon my approach to filling the cornice moldings. In this picture, I've patched two of the three sections. I made a patchwork section of wood mouldings for the third and largest section (see last photo). When I tried to insert and secure it today, it just didn't align properly with the curvy plaster moulding. I think I need to just start painting the ceiling and walls I've exposed (by removing the top of the wardrobe) and just forget about the moulding for now. I want this room to no longer look like a construction site!

I haven't even started patching the second area yet.

Here is the patch I worked so hard on and am now abandoning.
