Ness Woods

Today I drove almost the whole way to Derry, meeting Julie in Ness Woods. Her two dogs and my dog had a good run then we went back to hers for tea. Then I went into Derry, where I had breakfast with Paddy on the quay.

I was joined by my friend Sophie, who joined me for the ride back to Belfast. She was walking across the Peace Bridge last night when a bomb went off on Bishop Street near the city walls. Some idiots in something called the New IRA. Pisses me off when so many people are working so hard to make Derry a tourist destination.

Sophie and I called in to see Mary Richmond on the way home. Poor women is tormented by her sciatic nerve. She bears up well, however, and was gracious as always.
