Mon-Fri

I know I need to kill this blog as I have so little to say. However. That would require me contacting the blog host and learning how to have access to the content in perpetuity. That's right up there with closing my account at Wells Fargo (how do I transfer the money--how long will I have to be on the phone to figure this out), and  cashing out a small pension from my days at Gannett in the early 1990s. The list of interminables.

My theory is that this stuff never got done when I was unemployed because it was so boring and tedious. But that it might get done now that I'm employed full time because, if you want to get something done, you ask a busy person. And I am now quite busy. We'll see how that goes.

In the meantime, I was in London Weds-Fri at PRI (Principles for Responsible Investment). The highlight was a meeting on the 25th floor of HSBC headquarters at Canary Wharf with the incoming chair of Climate Action 100+. It want well and I feel better about the transition from the current chair, Anne Simpson at CalPERS, who has become one of my heroes.

A word about my commute in London from the Air BnB to the office.

Above is Stan Lee, creator of Marvel comics. This is a new mural on Rhoda Street on my way to work. I love the 25-minute walk to work because I see so many interesting things. About half the walk is on wonderful Brick Lane, with its Bangladeshi restuarants and sweet shops, vintage clothing shops, African chocoloate shops, and bagel shops. Not a chain store in sight.

There's random things like above: Life is Pretty. Avoid bad life. And lots of cake stores.

And lots of vegan cuisine. Most of the curry shops advertise that they are vegan friendly. Some day I'll have to try the place below.

Finally, here's a lovely iron plate set in the cobbled walk in front of a sort of open cafe/beer garden.
