Mary Poppins Returns

Emily Blunt. Wow. Talk about star power. Star power as in the women I remember from my youth--beautiful, multi-talented, funny, charming. Audrey Hepburn, Julie Andrews, Judy Garland, Barbra Steisand, Doris Day. The kind of actresses you can't take your eyes off of. Emily owned that film.

I loved the beautifully written and scored songs. I loved the costumes. I loved the humour. I loved Lin-Manuel Miranda's beautiful brown eyes. Mostly I loved being transported back to my childhood in a way I wouldn't have thought possible in this day and age. The magic, the wonder, the joy of the film--it was pure pleasure.
