London Bridge is NOT falling down

If I were to share one conference highlight, it is this conundrum. The greatest financing needs to meet climate change challenges are in developing countries. The money available to finance green bonds is in developed countries. Risk-averse bond investors have to overcome a triple crown of risk: currency risk, emerging market risk (political and economic stability), and green risk (do green certifications work, does green technology work).

This morning I walked from my BnB, near the Eye, to the Shard, then across London Bridge, heading for the Gherkin. I was lucky in that all my destinations were near very tall landmarks, including the conference, which was near the highest point in London. The walk from the BnB to Liverpool Street Station was quite long, and my bag was quite heavy. However I was rewarded at every step.

This is the back of a church next to London Bridge. I can’t image what the front looks like.

This is the HMS Belfast in front of Tower Bridge.

This is something called Leadenhall Market that just appears as you’re walking along a busy city street. London is so full of surprises.
