Joe’s Tour of London

I took the bus from Luton to Victoria then the District Line to South Kensington, where I met Joe and Carlos. We went to St. Pancras, which is what you do when you are with an architect.

Then the Coal Drops Yard, which was designed by a firm that Joe’s firm competes with.

It was more spectacular in person. We also went to the British Library, which is no prize architecturally but it has a room filled with documents like the Magna Carta, building designs by Leonardo da Vinci, sacred texts from all over the world, correspondence from Oscar Wilde, poems by Shakespeare, and on and on.
We had a proper Sunday roast lunch in a pub--delayed Thanksgiving for me. Then I headed to my B&B. A long walk from Old Street Station to Hackney. I was knackered when I got there--and so relieved that it was quiet and clean and there were no drug dealers lurking nearby.
