It’s the most wonderful time of the year
Today the delivery man brought a very small box of chocolate truffles, maybe six truffles and one rectangle of plain chocolate. These are from my very kind boss, Kylelane Purcell, who runs an outsourcing business for financial writing--my quarterly writing gig. I bring this up because the value of the chocolates was put at $20 on the shipping label. The cost of shipping? $44. Good lord. I feel really guilty that they are laying on that kind of dosh for me to have a treat. I think I suggested last year that she make an equivalent donation to charity instead. I might renew that suggestion this year. My heart goes out to the people in Trump’s America who are struggling even before he dismantles what’s left of the welfare state.
