It’s about time
Well I haven't had an injury in a while, so surely I'm due. It has rained almost non-stop for two weeks. I let my dog out 20 times a day, at least, often throwing a ball, which makes him very happy. But he tracks a lot of mud in the house. I was mopping the wood laminate floors on Saturday morning when I made an unfortunate discovery. If you stand barefoot on wet floors while mopping, and you apply any pressure at all to the mop, your feet will sail out from under you at an alarming speed. As my feet went upwards, my left shoulder headed for the laminate floor and took all my weight as gravity did its thing.
Sigh. Nothing is broken. I think just severe bruising to everything connected to the shoulder. I took pain killers on Saturday and Sunday, which left me with intestinal pain Sunday night and Monday. Today is Tuesday and I think my digestion has calmed down. The shoulder pain has eased as well, but I still can't shift gears without yelping.
On the bright side. I booked a ticket to go to Mount Stewart on Saturday--I'm trying harder to go somewhere nice on the weekends because I'm at home all week. David offered to drive me and be in charge of Paddy. So I was still able to go. I had my arm in a sling to protect my shoulder. Here's David and Paddy in one of the formal gardens. After weeks of rain, we had an unexpected outbreak of sunshine. It was just lovely to be outside.
I took Monday off from work and laid around thinking about curtains. I was back at work today, but it wasn't a stellar day for productivity. My boss is great--very understanding. He encouraged me to take as much time as I need.
