Isle of Dogs

I went to see this tonight. I was thinking dogs + animation, what could go wrong? Of course it was a lot darker than I expected. I wonder if it was an allegory? Could the dogs represent immigrants? Politicians breed fear of immigrants the way the Japanese leader bred fear of dogs. Immigrants have been imprisoned on islands by the Australians, left to die. America has put them in tents in deserts. Will young people speak up about the inhumanity of their treatment?

On a lighter note, the previews included a commercial by IKEA that I just loved.
