Homeless no more!!

We closed on our house Friday, the seller moved out yesterday, and today we went for a walk around. I have photos from our visit but the camera is at home while I'm here at the library (still working on the same stupid essay for the second day).

It was exciting and daunting to walk around our new old home. We have a lot of work to do and a lot of decisions to make. The good news is I think it will be lovely when we are done. The bad news is that that is going to cost a lot. I also stress over whether I'll "get it right." David and I have watched a number of TV shows focused on home makeovers. If you watch too much of this stuff you feel like the bar is set very high. Some of these redesigns involve levels of creativity and vision I'm just not capable of, not to mention levels of $$$.

Here's me by our new fireplace.

David in the conservatory.

Me by the newell post. I wrote a post a long time ago about the importance of a good newell post and bannister. My last house had a crappy staircase so I'm overcompensating in this house. This looks like a stairway to heaven, doesn't it?
