I had lunch yesterday with an old school friend who had come to Belfast to drop her nephew off at the airport. She has spent her adult life in England and is now in the process of moving back to Derry. She’s trying to right herself after going through a divorce. She and I share a sense of Derry as being our happy place. I’ll be curious how she finds resettling in Derry after so long away. I’m excited I have someone else to hang out with when I’m in Derry--someone else who doesn’t have an existing network of friends and commitments.
