Hogwarts
Today I went to my second wine and hors d'oeuvres reception at Queen's. This one was in the Great Hall.
The walls are covered with portraits of famous alumni, such as Seamus Heaney.
And other distinguished-looking folk.
The vice chancellor went on and on about the many accolades won by the university and the many investments being made to continue its dominance in multiple disciplines. The students wolfed down the sandwiches.
There is also art in the bathroom stalls.
My first two lectures left my head swimming. The first class looks at international conventions governing trade and the second looks at business and human rights--what, if any, responsibilities does business have for protecting human rights?
The first-day lectures were excellent. My main fear at this point is that I will not have the patience and aptitude for delving into case law, treaties, theory, research, etc. You know, the part where you actually have to work.
