Hershey's vs. Cadbury's

I heard a radio programme the other day in which people were doing a taste test comparing chocolate from a Belfast boutique chocolatier, Cadbury's and Hershey's. The consensus was that Hershey's leaves a chemical taste in your mouth whereas Cadbury's chocolate is creamy and the boutique chocolate was to-die-for.

The chocolatier explained the Hershey's-Cadbury's difference by way of the hotter climate in the U.S. vis a vis the U.K. Hershey's has less dairy content to make it more heat-resistant, while Cadbury's is a very dairy bar. One of the commentators said she can tell the difference between English and Irish Cadbury's--she said the bars made in Ireland are better because the milk is better.

I eat a lot of Cadbury's chocolate. Going forward, I will make note of where my bar was made and see if I can discern an Irish bouquet.
