Helen’s Bay
When I played golf at Ballymascanlon earlier this summer, I roomed with Helen Baird, who will be lady captain next year at Helen's Bay Golf Club. My buddy Marian arranged for me to play golf today at Helen's Bay with herself, Helen, and Eileen, with my mom in a buggy. Helen very kindly decided not to play but instead to be mom's buggy chaffeur. This was a luxury for me, as I could just focus on golfing--and have my bag carted around. I felt like a professional walking up the fairways empty handed.
We had a gorgeous day and the course itself was in beautiful condition. That's Belfast Lough in the background. Below is Marian, Eileen and mom just before we teed off.
We had tea in the club house afterward. Mom would have played at quite a few golf courses in Northern Ireland back in the day, so some nice memories for her.
