Get the job done

In November, I painted the downstairs hallway and one side of the upstairs hallway. I’d like to paint the other side of the upstairs hallway. This weekend I faced up to the implications of doing that.

  1. clean the mouldings.
  2. spackle and sand the mouldings and clean them again.
  3. paint the mouldings.
  4. paint the ceiling.
  5. paint the walls.

You can see there are water stains and cracks.

When I visited my mom, she gave me some old family photos, which have kickstarted the photo gallery I want to assemble and hang in the hallway. At the same time, a framer in Dundonald is going out of business, so I’ve been buying frames like crazy. All I need to do is 1-5 above, then go through a suitcase full of photos and pull out the ones I most want in the gallery. That was meant to be a winter project, however winter has somehow slid by without it getting done.

To be fair. I had company at Christmas time, then I had quarter-end materials for two weeks in January, then I was in the U.S. for two and a half weeks, then I had to do my visa. So really, my excuses hold a lot of water.
