Gardens galore
At Braeside Nurseries, I was encouraged to hire David McGurigan to plan my gardens. He did an excellent job and today we visited his gardens near Comber. We went with David, Stuart, and David's cousin Tonya.
The gardens were absolutely beautiful.
As you can see.
For yourself.
We had tea and cakes then we went to Island Hill car park to see the island that you can walk to when the tide is out in Strangford Lough.
Then we went up to Scrabo Tower.
And had a lovely view of the lough.
We got mom to shed her Aran sweater. It hasn't been THAT cold, but when you are used to the scorching summers of the US, it feels chilly here. Last night Stuart and David came over with a chocolate cake that David made and Stuart iced. Made in mom's honour it said: "Welcom back to N.Ireland."
Tonight we had Marshall over for dessert. David made rhubarb crumble and custard so we had that and a bit of cake. Beautiful gardens, multiple cakes and treats--my kind of day.
