From tea to tee

The irises are now in the front garden--not fun digging each hole as I need to go down 10-12 inces to the landscape fabric level and cut a hole in it for each iris. Cow parsley also planted. The poppies not in yet as I'm dithering on where to put them. I also have a lovely spirea and beautiful geranium from Fiona as a thank you for pet sitting. She had already given me a beautiful candle and ceramic bowl, but then also bequeathed me flowers left over from the wedding--she had filled baskets with lots of potted flowers.

After a day of labour, I visited Thea, who was having an afternoon Platinum Jubilee tea, complete with trifle. I got to meet some of her friends, and then moved on to the golf club, where I practiced a bit--trying to bed down the lesson I had on Thursday with Geoff.

Among the many small accomplishments today was cleaning and polishing the 8 Waterford glasses I bought at last week's auction at Rosss's. Which inspired me to set a table for the dinner party I'm not likely to be hosting any time soon. Complete with my mother's china and a springer spaniel.

Also happy to report my rose bush is blooming, so I'm enjoying their colour, scent, and pure elegance.
