Freddie
The political misery aside, the social aspect of living in Northern Ireland is paying dividends. I went to choir yesterday and then had a lovely dinner with the book club. Today I went out for tea with Jenny, where we talked about Green politics, my new job, and books. As my circle of friends widens, I increasingly feel at home here. Which is really saying something, as I always struggled to fit in in the U.S.
Tonight I went to see Bohemian Rhapsody and revel in the creative genius that was Queen. I teared up during the brief periods when they showed patients with HIV. I lost of a lot of friends to AIDS in the 1990s and thought about the loss of so much talent and brilliance of men like Freddie.
