Finally...

After applying for 25 jobs and sending another 25 unsolicited resumes, I’m happy to report I had my first interview today with Climate Bonds Initiative, which is mobilising the financial system to provide capital for renewables, energy efficiency, infrastructure, and so on.

By 2 pm yesterday, I had to submit a 500-word positioning brief on the announcement that the People’s Bank of China and the Bank of England had formed a Green Finance Study Group. What are the implications of this development? What will be the future impacts? What indeed. So I spent Sunday and much of Monday on this task. Then today I had a half hour interview with one of Climate Bonds Initiative's analysts, a very friendly American who lives in Sweden and commutes to London one week a month. I think the interview went well, but you don’t know what the competition is.

Climate Bonds Initiative is hosting a conference in London tomorrow. Tonight I made the rash decision to attend, then spent time printing:
Two boarding passes for EasyJet ($110)
Ticket for RT bus from Stansted Airport to London ($25)
Air BNB reservation ($88)
Ticket for conference and for green awards ceremony (free).
Resumes

I can’t believe I’m going to London tomorrow. I have been leading a fairly solitary existence. Going to a big city and networking may blow my little mind.
