Feeling great at 58
Well a bit of an exaggeration, given the rib situation. However I find I'm able to cycle, so today I rode through Titanic Quarter to a part of the city I'd never visited near the port, ending up in Holywood on the coastal path. I got lost, which adds to the charm of the experience. There's something about being on a bike and exploring a new area that makes me feel about 10 years old. What a great feeling when I'm quite a few decades past the first decade.
I feel very fortunate that I'm able to cycle and, when ribs are healed, to run, as I enjoy both a great deal. They improve my mood and reduce the stress that builds up around my job. The latter is going well. I make enough of a contribution that I feel I'm pulling my weight in some way. I just sent a newsletter to 700 investors around the world after the usual nightmares with SalesForce, MarketingCloud, MailChimp, and WordPress. So many things go wrong but I PERSISTED.
Here's a photo from when I was about 12--handy since I just did mom's photo album. I'm wearing an aran sweater and hat because that is what you wear when you have just moved to Ireland.
I took a lot of photos of photos. In this case, I didn't get the photo to lie flat so you're seeing a bit of desk on the right. I spent so much time gathering photos from so many places that I let my standards slip. I may have cropped this in Shutterfly.
My friend Marian gave me a home-made mask for my birthday, plus two pieces of cake with two candles. What a strange time we are living in!!
