EHOD3

Today I had work meetings followed by an intensely wonderful visit with my hiking buddy, Cynthia. She and her husband were in Scotland for a holiday and came down to London for a quick overnight so they could go to a musical based on Bob Dylan’s music. We had a proper chat--no friends like old friends. Our visit was interrupted by me hopping on a conference call with U.S. organisations that file resolutions at utilities. Then we went to Waterloo Station to get them bus tickets, then to the theatre to pick up their tickets, then a quick bite at Pret a Manger, my favourite place to eat in London (cheap, fast, socially responsible, veggie, and DELISH). I was a bit scattered and didn’t manage to get a photo of us together. I have many photos of us in Chile and Peru, but missed the London photo op.

In lieu, here’s a charity run in Whitehead, a lovely town on Belfast Lough. We saw this race on Saturday during our EHOD tour. Everyone was in costume and in high spirits.

Boats on Belfast Lough on Saturday in front of the Antrim Yacht Club:

A lot of the yacht clubs have these events where people go out on these little boats and do a course. Finally, a few houses on the promenade in Whitehead:

As part of EHOD, we visited a train museum in Whitehead. David is very much into trains--as many British men are. I have now been to five railway museums (Scranton, Pa; Zurich; York, England; and Cultra and Whitehead in Ulster. I think I should win a prize for the hours I’ve spent hearing about what each train is called, when it was built, what line it served on, and on and on.
