Donegal Day 3
Began at Tramore beach north of Dunfanaghy. Paddy is such a Donegal dog.

It was windy so the sea was frothy.

The beach was pristine.

People are encouraged to collect rubbish on the beach, which they clearly take to heart – you pass this bin when you leave the beach and begin the long trek through the dunes back to the car park.

Most of the rubbish is associated with commercial fishing. I liked the stones on the beach, whose sand was very very fine.

Once I had tired Paddy out, I met Simon and Harvey for a round at Dunfanaghy Golf Club. Here is a fairway next to the beach.

Here is a tee box next to the beach.

It was quite windy so, like Cruit, the course required some calculations re. which club to use and what direction to aim for, given strong cross winds. Sometimes I aimed directly at the ocean or at a field of sheep, confident the cross wind would bring my ball back to the green. I played better than I expected – I think the very well groomed fairways and the thin grass in the rough made it easier than Shandon.
