Doc who rocks

I took mom to the doctor today for a check up, then blood work, then x-ray. The friendliness of everyone we encountered reminded me that West Virginia was my back-up plan if I didn't make it to Ireland. The doctor explained a lot of things to mom that I never understand. He took his time and was as friendly as a person could be.

I've always enjoyed visiting here and have made many friends over three decades. I love how people stop by mom's house all the time. I'd say there are four women who stop by on a regular basis, bringing cookies, chicken salad, pepperoni rolls, gossip. It's so foreign to how I've always lived (I'm either at work, the gym, or gardening). I made two good friends right before I left Chester Springs and we all bemoaned our timing. But we are all also gardeners, so time that might have been spent drinking lemonade and eating pepperoni rolls was spent weeding, digging, and planting. In Bangor, I won't have that excuse.
