Day 1

We took a bus tour to the Cliffs of Moher, which took in:
Dunguaire Castle

Corcomroe Abbey, sacked by Cromwell’s forces.

The very barren burren. Betty @ The Burren:

They call these the wee cliffs, still at the Burren:

I’m calling these the Cliffs of Mother:

O’Brien’s Castle, a tourist attraction built early 1900s:

Kilfenora Cathedral and crosses: “Known as The City of Crosses due to the abundance of Celtic crosses that adorn the 12th century cathedral.”

Our bus driver was a bit hard to hear. It was a hot day and the AC was on full blast. A woman owned this castle and I think each of her husbands may have come to a bad end, possibly at her hand.

We learned that sparching is hanging out at the Spanish Arch in Galway. Here’s mom sparching:

We were a little old to be sparching but whatever.
