David's Birthday!

Is today. He started early, taking his daughter to Belfast to take the bus to Dublin. She had retuned the prior evening from France, where she attended an animation conference. Then he went back to Crawfordsburn to walk Maysie and shower, then to work. This afternoon he'll go back to Crawfordsburn to let her highness out, then back into Belfast to a restaurant near Queens University. He and five co-workers will have dinner to celebrate his birthday.

He works with a nice group of people, so I'm glad they are marking this solemn occasion. I left him with a pile of presents. One was this adorable statue

(actually, not this exact statue, one like it in a series called Ewe and Me) and one was a Giro d'Italia bike jersey. He's already opened these, so this is not a spoiler. He has two more to open tonight. And I had a birthday cake delivered from a bakery in Bangor to our local Spar (convenience store) in Crawfordsburn. So he and Belle had cake last night and his co-workers will help him finish it today.
