Chris Evans, my hero

So Chris is the morning DJ on BBC Radio 2. One of his pearls this morning: He encouraged people to Google what’s on nearby and text in telling him what they found out. One woman discovered a felting workshop that she wants to attend. Several people found out about coffee morning fundraisers nearby. Antique car show. You get the idea. Chris’s response was something to the effect that one of the best things a person can do is create an event that brings people together. I thought that was a lovely sentiment.

As if getting all the feels wasn’t enough, Chris had four guests:
Kenneth Brannagh, discussing Midnight on the Orient Express, his new film, as well as his program bringing Shakespeare to primary school children.
Hugh Bonneville, discussing his new film, Paddington 2.
Christian Slater, who is in Glengarry Glen Ross in London.
Leading Ladies, a group of female singers with very tight harmonies who do show tunes.
The guests all seem excited to be with each other and they ended up asking each other questions. Kenneth wanted to know about Mr. Robot, which Christian is in. Hugh wanted to know where Kenneth filmed a scene involving a train crossing a mountain precipice (the answer was something like Surrey). It was a high energy show and a rocking way to start my day. Chris always puts a smile on my face and you can’t ask for much more than that from your radio.
