Catch up

I have survived the driving test and the 49 quarterly commentaries. Before I dive into the Queen's deadlines, I spent today catching up on e-mails and phone calls. I took three rugs to Ross Auctions that don't work in this house; Oxfam came and collected a dining room table that doesn't work here and the fridge we inherited from Hillary (now we have a kitchen we don't need it). The house is beginning to have breathing room. I've probably unpacked 20 boxes in the past week during writing breaks.
Tomorrow: kitchen fitter comes to fix four carpentry odds & ends and the flooring guys come to lay the kitchen floor. David and I haven't been painting since we got a coat on the hallway walls. Next big decision is on living room furniture, which lets us pick living room & dining room wall colours. I'm frustrated at the lack of progress, but am happy to have a kitchen and bedroom.
