Catbells Terrace

Before I did the Catbells Terrace hike, I went down to the lake to enjoy the morning version of this idyll.

A family of swans was also enjoying the morning.

I took hike 1, the shortest, to see how my Achilles got on, with its padded inserts. Trip description: "Follow the elevated path along Cat Bells terrace, then return along the beautiful lakeshore path. Highlight: This stunning route is right on our doorstep. Throughout the walk you'll enjoy stunning views over Derwentwater and the surrounding Lakeland fells."

Not sure my photos do it justice.

The good news is my Achilles held up over 7 miles. I was quite tired at the end, my fitness level not what it should be. But various injuries have kept me from swimming/running.

It's an interesting group, as always. Six Australians; a Dutch woman; English people with a charming array of accents; one Belfast woman who lives a mile from me!! Also, ten German women with their own guide, a German native who now lives in Wales.
