Bumming around Belfast

After getting our veg on at St. George's market, we wandered around the Cathedral Quarter in Belfast. The choir was rehearsing in St. Anne's Cathedral, which made the experience exquisite. While the cathedral is lovely, the thing that most affected me was the Titanic pall, used in funerals at the cathedral. Two textile artists from the University of Ulster created it, stitching tiny crosses floating away on indigo felt, representing the 1,517 lives lost. It was eerily beautiful.

We then wandered the older parts of Belfast, including the lane housing the historic Duke of York.
The website's photos are better than mine, natch, but here's David reading about the pottery that used to be on the site.

And murals commemorating the potters.
