Brick Lane
Monday traveled to London and met with Climate Action 100+ leaders. Enjoyed dahl from my favourite curry take-out place. Tuesday we had a big meeting at HSBC in the afternoon--we were supposed to cover one topic but we covered five. Tuesday night dinner at the Culpeper restaurant. The head of Climate Action 100+ is visiting from California and many people from Ceres are visiting from Boston, so I'm getting to meet people I usually work with via teleconference. As usual, I'm enjoying my commute walking up and down Brick Lane.
I never tire of street art. "Consume: Destroy Tomorrow Today"
Wednesday I wrote up the notes from Tuesday's meeting. Took forever. Wednesday night I went to see The Price, an Arthur Miller play starring David Suchet (Inspector Poirot for 25 years) and Brendan Coyle (Bates on Downton Abbey). It was personal: about two estranged brothers (Coyle and another man) who need to sell their dad's belongings 16 years after he died. Suchet is an appraiser who is offering a price on the deceased dad's belongings. He's also a Greek chorus to the war between the brothers. They each have very different interpretations of their father's life, and they each made very different choices about their own lives as a consequence. My feud with my sister is very different but it is always interesting to see how two people can witness the same events and reach very different conclusions.
